This policy explains how SwiftLee B.V., established in the Netherlands, handles information when you use Video Compressor. SwiftLee B.V. is the controller for the limited personal data described below. Questions and privacy requests can be sent to [email protected].
Photo Library and on-device processing
With your permission, Video Compressor reads your Photo Library to identify videos, show metadata such as duration, dimensions, creation date, and file size, generate thumbnails, estimate savings, and perform compression. Scanning, analysis, and compression take place on your device. Your photo and video content is not uploaded to SwiftLee servers.
The app may keep local caches and settings to make future scans faster and remember completed compression results. These remain in the app’s storage and are removed when you delete the app. Compressed videos are saved to your Photo Library. An original is deleted only after you choose to delete it and confirm Apple’s system prompt; deleted items may remain in Photos’ Recently Deleted album under Apple’s rules.
Apple services
If an original is stored in iCloud, the app asks Apple PhotoKit to download it for processing. Apple handles that transfer under your Apple account and Apple’s privacy terms. The app may use Apple geocoding to turn existing location metadata into a place name and, on supported devices and languages, Apple Foundation Models for Smart Cleanup labels or requests. Foundation Models processing is provided by Apple’s system framework; the app limits inputs to the facts needed for the feature and does not send filenames or Photo Library identifiers to SwiftLee.
Subscriptions and purchases
Apple StoreKit processes purchases, billing, cancellation, and refunds. RevenueCat helps validate entitlements and subscription status. RevenueCat may receive an app-scoped user identifier, product and transaction information, country or store region, app version, and device or platform information. SwiftLee does not receive your full payment-card details.
Analytics
Amplitude receives bounded, aggregate product analytics so we can understand feature use and improve reliability—for example, that a scan completed or a purchase flow was opened. Analytics does not include filenames, Photos identifiers, file or web URLs, user-entered or generated text, localized prices, raw errors, or photo and video content. Debug builds, automated tests, and explicitly disabled sessions do not configure analytics.
Support and diagnostics
If you contact support, we process your email address, message, and anything you choose to attach. You may optionally initiate a diagnostics email from the app. Review its contents before sending; do not include media you do not want to share. We use support information to respond, troubleshoot, prevent abuse, and keep a reasonable record of the request.
Retention and deletion
On-device data remains until you clear it through the app, delete affected media, or remove the app. Subscription records are retained as needed to provide entitlements, meet tax and accounting duties, resolve disputes, and prevent fraud. Support correspondence is kept only as long as reasonably needed for those purposes. Analytics retention follows our configured provider settings and is periodically reviewed.
Legal bases and your rights
Where the EEA or UK GDPR applies, processing is based on providing the service you request, your consent for permissions or optional communications, our legitimate interests in secure product improvement and support, and legal obligations. Depending on your location, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection, or withdraw consent. Email [email protected]. You may also complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority or your local regulator.
International processing
Providers such as Apple, RevenueCat, Amplitude, and email services may process data outside your country. Where required, transfers rely on recognized safeguards such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses.
Children
Video Compressor is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Contact us if you believe a child provided personal data through support.
Security and changes
We use technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the limited data we handle, but no system is perfectly secure. We may update this policy when the app or legal requirements change. Material changes will be identified by a new effective date and, when appropriate, an in-app notice.
